Summary:
The Manager of Marine Transporation will manage both spot and chartered equipment focusing on export.
This will include managing the overall vessel operations for FOB and CFR/CFI shipments from contracting negotiations to delivery.
The manager will be responsible for setting up all resources and service needed for vessel shipments.

Responsibilities:
Maintains an understanding of daily blue water dry and liquid vessel operations to ensure contractual compliance, appropriate billing, invoicing, and cost recovery.
Monitors key factors that affect cost, such as fuel prices, global markets etc.
Negotiates and administers the Company's blue water dry and liquid product vessel contracts.
Interfaces with Legal and Risk Management personnel to ensure contracts meet approval policies and insurance requirements.
Develops and maintains global relationships with brokers, ship owners, agents, surveyors to facilitate ocean carriage Monitors marine market intelligence that affects rates and operations; reports information and its impact to management and appropriate departments.
Advances innovative solutions that meet customer needs (whether articulated or not) and improve CF's marine capabilities, cost, and service position.
Collaborates with Product Management, Supply Planning , and sales to determine vessel needs and works with Customs, Safety and Regulation, to optimize the company's customs and export practices and ensure compliance.
Develops and maintains system and process documentation to meet compliance requirements.
Cross-train to support other Marine Managers when needed.
Provide strategic support on growth initiatives as established by the business.
Incumbent Attributes:
Bachelors Degree or its equivalent is required 5
years of relevant experience Carrier management and maritime operations management experience a plus Vessel broker and vessel owner negotiations experience preferred Inland waterway, dry bulk and tanker vessel experience a plus Vessel Shipper experience a plus Excel, TMS, workflow systems experience preferred Strong communication skills with ability to work with internal and external customers Good organization, administrative and task management skills Strong problem resolution and analytical skills; must be able to exercise independent judgment within established guidelines Familiarity with fertilizer industry, marine transportation industry or general logistics preferred Position Scope/Contribution:
Incumbents in this position significantly contribute to the success of the Supply Chain & Sales and Distribution Facilities groups by ensuring timely response and management of equipment and carriers.
Through frequent contact with Supply Chain, Sales Support, Sales, Customers and Carriers/Vendors, incumbents ensure positive relationships with the highest level of ethical standards.
Incumbents in this position must be available for travel ( 30%; potentially considerably more in the run-up to and during dry dock activities) to owned facilities, marine repair sites, and lease customer locations, mee What We Offer:
