Position Purpose:
As the Manager, Accounting & Policy you will leverage your experience researching relevant accounting guidance to identify key accounting issues and recommend accounting solutions and disclosure requirements for complex and non-routine transactions.
You will also ensure that our accounting policies and estimates are updated timely to reflect the relevant accounting changes.
This position will report to our Director, Technical Accounting and Policy.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge and experience in interpreting and applying US GAAP technical accounting pronouncements.
Key Job Activities:
Conduct research and prepare documentation of accounting treatment for various contracts, transactions, and accounting issues under US GAAP and other regulatory accounting guidance and coordinate the communication of findings with the internal business partners (Corporate Controller, CAO, CFO, other finance and accounting organization, all level of business management, etc.
), external auditors, and external advisor as appropriate Perform and lead accounting review for complex accounting areas such as purchase accounting, divestiture accounting, intangible asset impairment reviews, and the annual goodwill process Lead and coordinate the preparation, establishment, and compliance with Stericycle's financial policies and guidelines including technical accounting items under ASC 606 Provide training to global teams for current policies, new / updated accounting guidance, and other complex areas of accounting Supporting management as the project lead on special projects, ad-hoc reporting and analysis requests requiring technical accounting guidance and leadership
Experience:
Education equivalent to Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation preferred 4
years professional experience within public accounting and corporate experience Must possess knowledge of US GAAP and Sarbanes-Oxley compliance Strong career progression with an emphasis on technical accounting and SEC reporting Experience in effective leadership, interpersonal and communication skills capable of interacting with staff, peers, and senior leadership competently and effective

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
