Summary:
The Senior Director, Contract and Pharmacy Account Management position is a leadership role within the Contract Development team.
This role is responsible for developing growth strategy opportunities for Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PBM) and with other contracting partners within their teams direct remit.
Working with the US Healthcare segment senior leadership, this role be responsible for ensuring that growth strategies are developed and executed on within their team.
Responsibilities include leading the team in the day to day account management of PBM accounts including developing a robust working relationship with accounts, identifying opportunities for growth and partnership, addressing questions/needs of owned accounts, setting the pricing and network strategy, negotiating and contract development.
In addition to managing owned PBM accounts, the team will also be responsible in supporting a variety of contracting initiatives with non PBM clients like health plans.
This role must build strong relationships, both internally and externally, collaborating with cross functional partners and sales teams to ensure revenue and growth strategies are achieved.
This role will manage a team who will directly manage assigned PBM relationships.
The Senior Director will provide direction to their team as they manage negotiations and will serve as the escalation point for complex issues that cannot be resolved by direct reports.

Responsibilities:

Accountable for setting the direction and expectations for growth strategies within their assigned accounts / book of business.

Responsible for ensuring team manages assigned PBM and Health System accounts in a collaborative manner to achieve growth and revenue goals and identifying new opportunities.

Hold team accountable for revenue and growth goals through mentoring and active engagement with difficult accounts when team members require escalation and support.

Ensure the teams partnership with key internal business partners including underwriting, sales, finance, legal, accounts receivable, operations and segment teams is effective and solution oriented.

Supports the development of new contracting strategies around new products and services, corporate initiatives as well as value based contracting
Responsible for building and developing staff within the Contracts and Account Management team.
Ensures that team members are appropriately trained and works to develop their knowledge and understanding of the industry, competitive environment, and Company objectives.

Responsible for leading a team for the appropriate utilization of resources to include:
staffing, pay change recommendations, performance management, manpower planning, assigning work, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Champions diversity initiatives within his/her organization and throughout the company.

Provides updates to US Healthcare senior leadership on progress of large contract negotiations and suggests next steps in the negotiations on the largest contracts along with presenting proposals, benchmarks, and strategies to governance committees.

Accountable for knowledge and understanding of the competitive landscape, customer issues and business strategies that affect assigned accounts and contracts as well as those managed by their team members.

Ensures that contract terms and conditions reflect pricing parameters of approved account proposals as well as those managed by their team members.

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree and at least 8 years of experience in a combination of Contracting, Finance, Account Management, or Corporate Strategy OR High School Diploma/GED and at least 9 years of experience in a combination of Contracting, Finance, Account Management, or Corporate Strategy
Experience influencing, negotiating, and facilitating with both internal and external partners while fostering and maintaining collaborative relationships throughout these processes
Works well under pressure while independently and collaboratively managing multiple client request/negotiations simultaneously
Experience leading a team in a fast paced environment that partners across multiple groups within the organization
Experience evaluating information to determine compliance with standards, laws, and regulations
Experience creating process maps for large complex matrix process improvement projects
Experience building and maintaining relationships within a matrixed team
Experience analyzing data to identify issues, trends, exceptions that results in improvement and finds solutions
Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
Experience developing strategic initiatives which align with business goals and budget.

Advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) skills
At least 5 years of experience contributing to financial decisions in the workplace.

At least 5 years of direct leadership, indirect leadership and/or cross functional team leadership.

Willing to travel up to/at least 25% of the time for business purposes (domestically and/or internationally).
Preferred
Qualifications:

Master Degree/MBA
Experience in pharmacy industry in areas such as Retail, PBM, Managed Care, Mail Service, and Specialty Pharmacy.
