Ergonomic & Human Factors Specialist

JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Global Health, Safety & Environmental Services department, this position will work with the corporate HSE team and assists with ergonomics activities to assure compliance with legal requirements utilizing economical, effective, and efficient concepts.
This position works closely with leadership to provide technical consultation, support, and guidance to leadership and team members on ergonomic matters.

Coordinate and deliver safety & ergonomic training for current and new team members.
Maintain training records and documentation across the various shifts.
Interface with Operations, Engineering, Human Resources, Technology, Quality, Purchasing, Legal Affairs and others to meet assigned safety & environmental objectives.
In this position, you will drive safety improvement throughout S&C in the area of ergonomics and human factors by developing common enterprise ergonomic strategy and collaborating with functional groups to integrate ergonomic considerations into S&C's design for manufacturability and enterprise business practices.
By developing and implementing strategy and programs that address root causes and drive human ergonomics best practices from product design forward, you will have the opportunity to proactively improve the comfort, health and safety of members throughout S&C Drive enterprise ergonomic strategy, policy, and practices for S&C's manufacturing operations, including creation of ergonomic centered goals, objectives, policies, procedures, community of practice, etc.
Foster continuous improvement and help change the culture to better understand ergonomic impacts and practices throughout manufacturing operations (i.
e.
, process design, testing, and start-up) to ensure S&C provides the best level of comfort, health and safety for its members.
Collaborate directly with other functional groups such as product and manufacturing engineering, quality, and GHSE to optimize human-machine interfaces in S&C's operations.
Oversee S&C programs to educate engineering and environmental/health/safety members on applied ergonomics for processes, design for manufacturing and assembly, and equipment design.
Recommend workplace changes, provide technical support, and implement solutions to reduce physical hazards or discomfort, and recordable injuries.
Guide operations in implementation of potential solutions related to changes in equipment design, procedures, manpower, personnel, or training.
Identify opportunities to standardize training, risk assessments, improvement activities across sites and deliver process efficiencies.
Lead and actively participate in sharing of best practices, drive improvement opportunities across the S&C enterprise, and leverage the knowledge and experience to drive towards ZERO INJURY culture.
Participate in annual review/auditing of corporate and site-level ergonomics programs and practices.
Perform virtual and physical ergonomic assessments and recommendations using standard ergonomic analysis tools and/or Digital Human Modeling to identify and prioritize ergonomic risk factors to comply with corporate guidelines and standards to improve operator efficiency, quality, reduce cost, improve safety and eliminate operator injury.
Benchmark with manufacturing and other industries and communicate best practices within the enterprise.
To select this job as one of interest to you, at a minimum, you must have the following:
Bachelor's Degree in OHS or safety-related discipline, engineering, or kinesiology, physiology, biomechanics, or medical-related discipline.
CSP, CPE, CEAS III, CRM, etc.
with appropriate work experience 5
years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment Knowledge of Federal and State OSHA, NIOSH regulations in addition to ANSI standards High level of interpersonal skills, ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects and/or sites.
Technical expertise in manufacturing safety Ability to interact with all levels of the organization.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Demonstrated professional with a passion for change and relentless focus on strategy and execution.

Relevant Experience Required:
Experience as an Industrial/Manufacturing Engineer, Human Factors Engineer or equivalent experience in a manufacturing environment.
Internship experience within the HSE field can be considered.
MAJOR PHYSICAL DEMANDS This job may require periodic travel by car and/or airline to S&C locations and perform in-person inspections and investigations in a wide variety of factory and office environments or attend off site seminars and training activities for continued safety and/or environmental development.

Activities such as standing, extensive walking, climbing stairs / ladders, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, bending, reaching, handling and may be exposed to hot/cold temperatures will occasionally be required.
Frequent use of computers and office equipment is required.
Ability to support on call and work after hours as needed.
